FAQ
1. How much is this going to cost me?
Ahhhh, that’s everyone’s favorite question. I’m going to be up front with you. If the only thing important is to find the cheapest photographer in town, I am not your guy. I’m not the cheapest in town. WAIT!!!!!!! I’m also not the most expensive either. I do a lot of research. I talk to a lot of photographers. I charge exactly what I should for the wonderful experience and final product that you will receive. Give me a call and let’s talk about it. It’s very likely I have something for your budget, and if I don’t, I will be honest with you. I will probably even try to help you find someone.
2. Will I get the digital files from my wedding or portrait session?
Yes. However, I do want the chance to show you samples of the wonderful art that you can have in your home. A flash drive will look really silly hanging above your sofa. We will discuss this during the consultation.
3. The last experience I had getting my kids’ images made was terrible. I’m hesitant to do it again.
I have a 5-year old daughter and 3-year old son. I feel your pain!!!!! My wife and I need time alone for an hour or so after I do a session with my children. While I can’t promise you every moment will be perfect, just trust me. The session may be hectic, but we will get some wonderful images. Believe it or not, I often find that the images I get near the end of the session, when the parent has long given up hope, end up being some of the best. I’ve often thought about telling them the session is almost over right from the start. Just relax and have fun. If you are relaxed and don’t appear stressed, your child is much more likely to relax.
4. I have no idea where to have my session done.
That’s not a problem. It’s my job to know!! From urban edge to farm life, I will put you in the setting that expresses your story.
5. Do I get two photographers for my wedding?
Of course! No detail, no smile, no tear will go unnoticed. Well, I guess I can’t promise for sure that not one single smile will be missed. But yes, there will be two of us there. Oh, and we are a LOT of fun!
6. There is so much that is happening on my wedding day. I’m not sure when to have you be there.
Don’t let that be a thought for you. You get unlimited hours of coverage on the big day. That’s right. I said it. I will be there for the whole thing. No, really. I will be there from hair and makeup to crazy dancing. The second photographer will be there for a minimum of 6 hours.
7. I’ve heard horror stories of brides waiting months and having to beg to get their images back. How long are you going to make me wait?
Lucky for you, you are hiring a guy who hates to have projects hanging over his head. I need to get your job edited and in your hands so I can move on to the next one. Besides, I have to hide from my kids occasionally. I might as well edit your wedding In nearly 10 years, the longest any bride has ever waited is 4 ½ weeks. Turn around time for you is 3-4 weeks. By the time you recover from the honeymoon, I’ll be knocking on your door.
8. I want a photographer who has photographed at my venue.
I have lived in Louisville my whole life. I’ve been to a lot of weddings. I’ve been photographing weddings for a decade. I’ve photographed at the vast majority of the venues. If not, I’ve likely been to the venue for another event. In the rare instance you are getting married somewhere that I’ve not been, I will make a site visit ahead of time. By the time I’m done preparing, you would never have known I hadn’t been there. Refer back to #7 above. I’m a type A personality. I can’t stand not to be prepared.
9. What equipment do you use?
You know those little disposable cameras that you get in the checkout lane at the grocery store? Well, that’s definitely not what I use. I use professional grade Canon products. And, I have a lot of gear. I have backups and backups to the backups. Oh, and I have insurance on the gear as well as myself. I’m covered!! Therefore, you’re covered!!
10. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my family/senior session?
We will grab an umbrella!! Ha – Just kidding!! We will of course reschedule. I want your session to be a pleasant experience, and I won’t let the weather get in the way. The occasional reschedule is just part of the business.
